Tech Chef is a nutritional cooking competition for GT students, sponsored by CHEFS student cooking club, Stamps Health Services, GT Dining Services, and the GT Campaign for Everybody.
The goal is to help students plan and create delicious and nutritionally balanced meals, all while understanding nutritional concepts like caloric and sodium intake, as well as the importance of portion size in a healthy diet.
Tech Chef 2013 will take place on March 2. This year's key ingredient is MANGOS.
The recipe you submit must be of your own creation and include the key ingredient. Recipes must fall into one of the following categories: Breakfast, Dinner, or Dessert. We suggest you use the following recipe calculator to analyze your recipe. Your recipe should be in compliance with the Nutrition Facts Label for a healthy serving. Three teams will be chosen for each division. If chosen to compete, you will have 45 minutes to prepare this recipe for a panel of judges on Saturday, March 2nd. All competitors will be notified by via email once chosen and will be informed of additional, follow-up instructions.
There will be one winner chosen from each division as well as an overall winner. The overall winner will receive an engraved Chef’s knife for the executive chef and two $25 gift cards to GT Dining for the sous chefs.
