Our Radiology team is dedicated to our patients and the health care providers responsible for their clinical management. Our goal is prompt and confidential patient services, while protecting the rights of every patient to quality results.

The radiology department at Stamps provides general diagnostic x-rays and has two diagnostic x-ray rooms. Radiology testing provides an extremely valuable role in the early and accurate diagnosis as well as monitoring disease progression and treatment efficacy. We employ state of the art digital radiography which has improved customer service, enhanced service to the providers, education, and image quality.

Most x-rays are provided at no-charge if the health fee has been paid.

Compliance

Our radiology service meets the rigorous requirements of the Office of Radiological Safety (ORS) at Georgia Tech and the American College of Radiology. Our goal is to provide radiological safety and control to keep personnel and public exposure As Low As Reasonably Achievable and to comply with federal and state regulations. ORS maintains and ensures compliance with the Institute’s radioactive materials license issued by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Quality Improvement Program

Our Quality Improvement Program monitors and evaluates the ongoing and overall quality of the total testing process. This includes all of the activities involved in turnaround times, and radiology overread of all x-rays to assure accurate, reliable patient test results.

X-Ray Copies

Stamps will hold all x-rays for 10 years. Patients interested in receiving copies of their x-rays may do so for a minimal fee.  All x-ray copies are made to a CD with built-in software, allowing for easy viewing for both patients and other medical providers. In order to obtain x-ray copies, patients may pick up x-ray copies during regular business hours, or mailed (with completed Release of Information Form).

Staffing

Radiology services are provided by radiological technologists registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or by medical assistants with special training in diagnostic x-rays. All x-rays are reviewed by board certified physicians with overread by a board certified radiologist.
