Primary Care - Includes Symptomatic Covid Testing Information

Starting January 3, 2023, Primary Care Clinic at Stamps Health Services will return operations that existed prior to Covid. Primary Care Clinic will no longer have Respiratory Screening and Non-Respiratory appointments. Almost all appointments will be in-person appointments, with very limited telemedicine appointments. Students will need to choose a reason for visit when they schedule their appointment.

All appointments can be scheduled on-line through the patient portal at https://gatech.medicatconnect.com or by calling 404-894-1420. Appointments will open for scheduling 3 days in advance of the appointment. Primary Care Clinic is an appointment-based clinic, and we have only limited capacity to see emergent or urgent patients who walk in without an appointment. Students who walk in without an appointment will be scheduled for the next available appointment or triaged by nursing staff for an appointment in a time frame appropriate for their presenting issue.

Appointments for Routine Physical Exams and Travel Evaluations have a separate process for scheduling. Instructions for these appointments can be found at https://health.gatech.edu/services/primary-care

Students should arrive at Stamps Health Services 10-15 minutes prior to their appointment time to get checked in prior to their appointment. If a student arrives more than 5 minutes after their appointment time they will be rescheduled for another appointment. Stamps utilizes mobile check-in through our Patient Portal.  When you are within one tenth of a mile of Stamps, you can check in using your mobile device.  Log in to the Patient Portal and click the Check-In button associated with your appointment on the home page.

We will continue to offer Covid-Test-Only appointments, which will involve only a covid test.  There will not be an appointment with a provider associated with this visit. Results of covid testing will be communicated through the patient portal. This appointment type is appropriate for mild to moderate symptoms for which you do not need to see a provider but you do want to make sure your symptoms are not due to Covid. Covid testing at Stamps Health Services is only for symptomatic patients; it should not be used for surveillance testing or testing after exposure if asymptomatic. Inappropriate use of Stamps’ testing appointments will prevent those who are ill from accessing testing.  Scheduling for Covid Testing appointments open up at 2:30 the day before the appointment. To get your test done, come inside the Stamps building and go straight back to the lab on the first floor.  All students getting covid testing must wear a mask in the building.
