Contraception Counseling and Prescriptions

Contraception Counseling and Prescriptions

NEED ASSISTANCE ?

Contraception (birth control) prevents pregnancy from occurring.  Many different types of contraception are available.  Some are available only with a prescription, while some can be purchased without a prescription (over the counter) at a pharmacy or supermarket.

Our Women’s Health Clinicians can assist you in choosing the method that best fits your individual needs and lifestyle.

The following contraceptive methods are available through Women’s Health:

  • Birth Control Pills
  • Condoms (no prescription needed)
  • Depo Provera® (shot)
  • Diaphragm
  • IUD (Intrauterine Device)
  • Nuvaring® (vaginal ring)
  • OrthoEvra® (birth control patch)

An exam may be required in order to obtain certain types of contraception.

If you are interested in obtaining a prescription contraceptive method, please schedule an appointment with Women’s Health (404.894.1434).

We also encourage you to visit Method Explorer to learn more about your birth control option
